South End Modern Transformation

The bones of this South End home are pure Boston — the brick, the proportions, the history of one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods. Everything inside them is not. This was a full transformation, room by room, built around custom craftsmanship and materials chosen with the same care as the architecture they now sit inside of.

The kitchen is the heart of it — Divine's Custom Line cabinetry, finished in a stain color mixed to match gray undertones already in the room, with dovetailed drawers built to outlast the family that fills them. The storage does real work: four-tier spice pullouts, tray dividers, cabinets that run to the ceiling instead of stopping short of it. Quartz counters, a seamless backsplash, and integrated lighting finish the room without competing with any of it.

The living area centers on a custom Arrital TV wall — concealed storage, floating drawers, lighting built into the millwork itself rather than added after. Breccia melamine, Ardesia veneer, and stone-toned metal accents give the wall real depth up close, and the fireplace anchors the whole room without shouting to do it.

The reading room used to be a blank wall. Now it's shelving, floating drawers, and accent lighting built specifically to hold books and art — a statement painting and a deep, plush chair turning what was empty space into the room people actually go looking for at the end of the day.

The dining and lounge areas were built for both ordinary nights and the ones with everyone over: a black veneer dining table with soft leather chairs, navy swivel chairs, a couch built entirely to spec, and coffee tables with just enough personality to keep the room from feeling too serious.
