Interior design of an open-concept kitchen and living space in a Boston South End brownstone: a white marble-clad linear gas fireplace with a framed abstract landscape painting on the left, and a warm wood glass-front display cabinet beside a white waterfall-edge island with gray shaker cabinetry and clustered pendant lighting on the right, unified by gray-toned wide-plank wood flooring

Behind the Brownstone

Boston South End

Behind the familiar façade of a South End brownstone, this home takes a decidedly more modern turn.

The renovation moves through the entire house with a consistent point of view, letting the proportions and character of the brownstone remain while giving everyday life a cleaner, more contemporary setting.

Old Boston on the outside. Something entirely different once you're home.
