A new technology, about a century ago: frames. They formed the basis for an entirely new type of furniture. With frames made from one piece of bent tube and an intrinsic level of comfort derived directly from the properties of the material. This “freischwinger” heralded a revolution in fur-niture design. It was industrial yet comfortable. Freyr gave this type of dining room chair a completely modern context and contemporary comfort. Anything can be improved on. So the sprung frame remains the starting point for Freyr, but the finish has been tailored to the needs of today.
