A PENTHOUSE KITCHEN WITH INDUSTRIAL STYLE
The owner of this Somerville penthouse condo wanted to improve their home, giving it more function and an industrial style kitchen that matched the rest of the space. The Divine team went to work creating an open space that suited the owners’ taste while making the most of the home’s ample light and industrial appeal.
REFLECTING STYLE WITH POLISHED CONCRETE FLOORS
One of the most interesting aspects of the kitchen was its roof deck access, provided by a large glass-panel, garage-style door. The private roof deck is a treat for guests, and the door lets the sunshine flood into the space. To amplify this effect, The Divine team implemented industrial chic from the ground up, carrying the polished concrete floor from the main kitchen section all the way across the new kitchen space. The glassy finish on concrete creates a dramatic stage for the rest of the design and makes every ounce of natural light work double-time. Polished concrete floors make a great option for high-traffic spaces and kitchens because they are hard-wearing and easy to maintain.
HIGH IMPACT, EXTRA STORAGE WITH LEICHT CABINETS
The drama of the polished concrete floors continues up through the cabinetry throughout the space. It starts with Leicht cabinets in grey to complement the floors and anchor the color scheme. Then, upper cabinets and engineered stone countertops in glossy white bring the drama all the way up to the rafters. The cabinet selections are perfect for an industrial style kitchen; they create a clean, open presentation perfect for entertaining both inside and out.
