BOSTON BACK BAY VILLAGE ECLECTIC MODERN LEICHT KITCHEN

FROM DATED TO DAZZLING - ECLECTIC KITCHEN STYLE

When you are at home in the world, the heart of your home should reflect it. The clients, owners of a gorgeous brownstone in the heart of Boston, came to Divine looking for a more modern and eclectic kitchen. They wanted to be sure the new space would capture their love of travel and international style in the design. Drawing from both Moroccan inspiration and a fresh European style, the Divine team gave them the best of both worlds: a truly eclectic kitchen style, and a layout to make the space completely functional.

OPENING THE DOOR TO MOROCCAN STYLE

The inspiration for the Moroccan kitchen style started close to home—right in the kitchen itself. The couple’s dining table, formerly an elegantly designed door found on a trip to Morocco, captured the essence of the client’s style and adventurous spirit. The designer decided on a bold, wrap-around backsplash, custom made by an artist in Miami, FL. The bold color and striking geometric pattern draws its design from another inspiring door—the gates of the Morocco’s Royal Palace in Fez.

AMPLE STORAGE IN A SMALL KITCHEN

The dated kitchen had neither modern style nor function, so the team set out to improve its usefulness with a modern kitchen design. The builder-grade cabinets were removed, replaced with sleek Leicht cabinets in a two-tone selection of crisp white upper cabinets, and earthy, oak laminate base cabinets for the old-world appeal of weathered wood. The U-shaped kitchen layout provided plenty of prep space, and a full wall of cabinetry created ample storage out of what had previously been a large, empty wall space.
