Boston North Shore Swampscott Modern Open Kitchen
This new construction home provided plenty of opportunity for designing a custom kitchen. The vaulted high ceilings give this contemporary space plenty of vertical room. This allowed for larger scale European cabinets and a big kitchen island.
The custom cabinetry is entirely white. However, the upper wall cabinets are flat slabs with a handleless design. The lower cabinets have integrated handles. Continuing the white monotone color scheme, a white tile custom backsplash lines the wall.
An integrated fridge is hidden behind matching white panels. The other luxury appliances are from Miele. Because there is plenty of room, the double ovens fit comfortably into the contemporary European cabinets.
Providing balance to this luxury kitchen are dark grey countertops for the wall cabinets and kitchen island. Both sides of the island have a waterfall countertop. This creates a contemporary chic design in what would otherwise look like a minimalist kitchen.
A unique touch to this custom kitchen is the chalkboard wall. While you typically see these in modern farm house kitchens, it fits well in this space. The large calendar is perfect for turning this contemporary kitchen into a welcoming family gathering spot.
