Wood-Toned Contemporary Shaker Kitchen
The natural wood tones of the European cabinets in this transitional kitchen add plenty of warmth. The combination of flat panel and shaker custom cabinet fronts gives this kitchen a fresh take on traditional luxury kitchen design.
Instead of forcing a large kitchen island into the already-constructed home, our designers worked with a wrap-around design for the major renovation.
A single type of blue-grey granite was chosen to use throughout the European kitchen and additional bar area. The granite tops the custom cabinetry at the countertop and is a matching custom backsplash. Using a large stone backsplash adds a touch of elegance to an otherwise simple design.
Instead of using open shelving, some cabinet fronts were replaced with glass ones. This created a protected display space. Decorative paneling was also added to the outside of the breakfast bar area for a polished design.
A small wine fridge keeps a few select bottles chilled and ready for serving. In addition, in true European kitchen style, high end Viking appliances turn this transitional kitchen into a chef’s kitchen.
